HOTH

Hoth was born at Loki Clan.  He is one of the most timid and feral wolves at the refuge.  Hoth was raised by his parents along with his brother, Wappo.  They all still remain together in the same pack.

When Keating went to Boston to pick up two wolves from a suburb of Chicago, he did not know that the female, Lobo, was pregnant. Lobo and Drak were owned by a woman who kept them in her backyard because she “liked to look at them.”  Keating always neuters animals before or shortly after they arrive at Loki Clan, so as to prevent animals from reproducing.  In this case, it was too late.  Seven pups were born.

As misfortune would have it, five of the pups were struck by lightening. Only Hoth and Wappo survived. Hoth is the omega of the pack and is rarely seen by anyone.  This pack has lived together at the refuge for almost a decade.  No other wolves have ever been introduced into this pack.

Hoth passed away peacefully in December of 2010. The cause of death is unknown. His parents and brother survive him.
