GET TO KNOW
Get to know some of the wolves at the refuge.
CISCO
At the age of one, Cisco was left at the refuge by a man heading to college. The man said he had nowhere to put Cisco but would be back soon. Cisco waited every day at the fence, for years, for the man to return.
Fifteen years passed, and the man never came or contacted the refuge. Cisco eventually stopped waiting.
Cisco never trusted people again though he valued those who took care of him. Early in 2010, he suffered a stroke and lost control over his back legs, but he still got around. Cisco was what Keating called the cranky old man of the refuge. Often visitors didn’t notice him, as he sat so far away from the fence. He and Atlas were the oldest wolves at the refuge.
